In overlap you are to far from the post, especially in us, try to just leave the skate from the post and that’s enough. You’ll be closer to the rebound as for the possible pass across.

I know that coach didn’t wait for you but you have to play the puck from the beginning till the end in the practice too. The opponent (Russia u16) had immense speed and was good with the puck, which was a great experience for me to get a taste of international hockey, and get a sense of what level I am on compared to world-class players
